Librarian Capital's Monthly Ranked Top Buys - July 2024

Portfolio Strategy: Our "Select 15" portfolio has now gained 37.9% since the start of 2023. We replace two holdings with new positions and re-size two others.

Introduction

This is the July edition of our "Monthly Ranked Top Buys“ series, intended to present a model portfolio to showcase our most-preferred stocks and to quantify our view of each stock’s relative attractiveness. We call this portfolio “Select 15”, and it closely resembles how we manage capital in real life, including more than 80% of our personal assets.

As of the end of June, “Select 15” has gained 9.7% year-to-date and 35.3% since inception, after gaining 0.3% in June:

At the time of writing, the portfolio has gained a further 2.0% in July 1-15, taking our gains to 37.9% since inception. (The numbers do not add up due to compounding.) Beginning with a notional $1m at the start of 2023, it is now worth $1.379m after just under 1.5 years:
