Introduction: Comcast CEO Brian Roberts appeared at an investor conference (with Goldman Sachs) on Wednesday (September 22). We highlight his comments on Comcast’s consumer hardware, its MVNO with Verizon, its Peacock content strategy and Sky’s profit targets.

“Design It Once, Deploy It Everywhere” Hardware

Comcast has a "design it once, deploy it everywhere" approach to its consumer hardware. The latest example is XiOne, a global streaming box that works in the US, UK, the Italy, etc. The "majority" of new sign-ups now only want broadband, and Comcast gives them the Flex streaming box for free:
